Refugees & asylum seekers CAN volunteer

We can give you advice and support on how to start volunteering

Our specialist New Beginnings project has been running for 8 years and has helped hundreds of refugees and asylum seekers to make a contribution to Sheffield and to get the positive benefits of being a volunteer.  If you are a refugee or asylum seeker and would like to volunteer, contact us.  The project runs on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  Please:

Why Volunteer?

It’s a great way to meet new people, develop skills to help you get a job, increase your confidence and improve your English.

We have a team of advisors who are refugees themselves, who can:

  • help you have a good experience of volunteering
  • call organisations for you and make appointments
  • help you fill in application forms

Ask our advisors what they think of volunteering or click on Stories and Photos to see what other refugees have to say.  You’ll see there are lots of good reasons to volunteer and that volunteering includes many different activities.

To find out more about volunteering read More information for refugees for further information and answered questions.
