Advertise your roles
Are you a community group, charity or public sector organisation?
You can register your volunteering opportunities with us for free.
Before you advertise your roles, it is a good idea to really think about why you are involving volunteers, what you want to achieve and how you are going to do that in a way that is beneficial for your organisation, your staff and the volunteers you hope to involve. See our page on Why involve volunteers and our Nuts & Bolts guide to help you develop your role descriptions.
Minimum quality standards
Our minimum quality standards help to ensure that volunteering is as accessible and as inclusive as possible, so that everyone in the city can benefit from taking part.
In order to advertise with us, your organisation will have to ensure that volunteers will be:
- welcomed whatever background they come from
- safe
- properly insured
- adequately trained
- supported and supervised
- not used to replace paid staff
- reimbursed for out of pocket expenses (travel expenses as a minimum) if you have paid staff.
Travel expenses are really important to ensure volunteering is as inclusive as possible. Click here to read more about the importance of being proactive in offering travel expenses to vulnerable groups such as asylum seekers and refugees. For more guidance about travel expenses, please see our Good Practice resources.
Advertise your roles – free volunteer management platform
To advertise with us, you will need to register or log in to our database. This is a free service for community groups, charities, non-profit or public sector organisations. We do not advertise roles for private/for profit companies, or companies with shareholders.
The platform is easy to use and gives you a free advanced volunteer management platform.
You can register and advertise roles by clicking on this link:
Once you have uploaded details of your role/s, they will be checked by us to ensure they meet the minimum quality standards listed above. We may get in touch if we have any concerns or questions.
Once approved, your roles will be advertised in the following ways:
- Volunteers can search and apply online for opportunities.
- In our monthly bulletins which list the latest roles. These are available on our website and get emailed to a large mailing list.
- Via our volunteer advisors who provide volunteering information by phone, email and face-to-face at The Circle.
